Import Your Contacts

Training Resource • AGENTVIEW Support

Importing contacts is a quick way to bring an existing database into AGENTVIEW without entering each contact individually. The Import Contacts tool walks you through uploading your CSV file, reviewing how your information will be matched to AGENTVIEW, confirming contact permission, and completing the import so your contacts are ready to manage inside the CRM.

Prepare Your CSV File

Before beginning the import, save your contact list as a .CSV file.

Make sure your file includes a clear header row with names such as First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and Mobile Number.

Review the file before importing and remove blank rows, obvious duplicates, and unnecessary spaces whenever possible.

Open Import Contacts

From the left navigation menu, click Contacts.

At the top of the Contacts page, click Import Contacts to open the new Import Contacts workspace.

Upload Your CSV File

The import process begins in the Upload File section on the left side of the window.

Click Browse and select the CSV file containing the contacts you want to import.

Once the file is selected, AGENTVIEW will display the filename and begin preparing the information for field mapping.

Only .CSV files are currently supported.

Review and Map Your Fields

After the CSV file is loaded, AGENTVIEW moves into the Review & Map stage.

AGENTVIEW automatically matches recognized CSV column headers to the corresponding contact fields whenever possible.

At the top of the mapping area, you can see how many fields were Auto-matched and how many Need review.

Each CSV column appears on the left, with the AGENTVIEW field it will import into displayed on the right.

Review each mapping carefully. If a column is mapped incorrectly or still needs attention, use the field dropdown to select the correct AGENTVIEW contact field.

Fields that have been successfully matched are highlighted to make reviewing the import easier.

Confirm Contact Permission

Before completing the import, confirm that the contacts included in your file have given permission to be contacted.

Only confirm consent when the contacts in the file may legitimately be contacted through the communication methods you intend to use.

You are responsible for honoring unsubscribe, opt-out, STOP, and do-not-contact requests, as well as any applicable communication and privacy requirements.

Complete the Import

Once your field mappings have been reviewed and the required contact permission has been confirmed, continue to the Import stage.

Click Import Contacts to complete the process.

After the import is finished, the new records will appear on your Contacts page, where you can open individual contact profiles, review the imported information, and add any additional details you need.

Tips for a Smooth Import

   Start With a Small Test
If you are importing a new file format for the first time, consider testing the process with a small group of contacts before importing the full database.

   Use Consistent Column Names
Keeping your CSV column headers consistent can help AGENTVIEW recognize and auto-match your information more easily during future imports.

   Review Every Mapping
Even when AGENTVIEW successfully auto-matches your fields, take a moment to confirm that each CSV column is connected to the correct contact field.

   Review Your Contact Information
Check important information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, lead source, contact status, and contact type before completing a large import.

   Only Import Approved Contacts
Do not import purchased or unapproved contact lists. Only import contacts you have permission to communicate with.
